Today we lost our beautiful greyhound Perry, he was 12 years old. We rescued him from a horrible racing life(in my opinion it should be banned)! when he was three and he has been an absolute delight to have as a pet. He first became ill about five months ago and we have known since then that he would not get better, but somehow that does not really help. We have been lucky that the steroids he was on meant he could enjoy the last few months with a good quality of life, sadly the tablets just stopped working. He was without doubt a gentle giant with an amazing spirit and he was loved so much by us and he will be sorely missed. We do still have our mongrel Max, not sure what he is going to make of it either.
Sorry to write such a misog post, but just felt he deserved it!!

Oh Karen I'm so sorry about your loss...it's like losing a member of the family...at least you gave him a good life and he isn't suffering any more....hugs Shelly x
